يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على عدد من المصادر النحوية، والشواهد اللغوية التي اعتمد عليها كتابا «مشكل إعراب القرآن» لمكي بن أبي طالب الأندلسي، و«البيان في غريب إعراب القرآن»، لأبي البركات الأنباري، ويدرُسها دراسة تفصيلية تطبيقية شاملة، ويبين غرضها وأهدافها، ومصادرها، ومنهج التعامل معها، ويجلّي المسائل المتفقة والمختلفة التي استشهدا عليها بالشواهد اللغوية، ويوضح أغراض هذه الشواهد ومصادرها عندهما، مع بيان آرائهما في تلك المصادر، وفي المدارس النحوية من خلال قبول آرائها أو رفضها، وفي العلماء الذين انتشرت آراؤهم في الكتابين، وتحليل هذه الآراء، واستخلاص المنهج الذي اتّبعاه في النقل عن المصادر، والموازنة بين شواهدهما من حيث عددها ومواضعها وطريقة الاستشهاد بها. جاء هذا الكتاب في خمسة أبواب؛ كان أولها مقدمة تمهيدية له، وثانيها في التعريف بعلم إعراب القرآن، وبالمؤلفين، وكتابيهما، وتحدث الثالث عن مصادر الكتابين، وتطرق الرابع إلى الشواهد اللغوية بين الكتابين، وكان الأخير في نتائج البحث وخاتمته.
