كانت مجالس العزاء أهم عامل في تكوين وجدان المسلم الموالي للنبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وأهل بيته (ع) فكان وجداناً مطبوعاً بالعاطفة العامرة بالودة والحزن والتعلق بالحق وأهله، والنفور من الباطل وأهله، وعشق للعدل ومحافاة للظلم.
وفي الوقت نفسه أصبحت مجالس العزاء هي النافذة التي يطل منها المسلم على كل المعارف الدينية من فقه وعقائد وما يتصل بحياة المسلمين من تاريخ وإجتماع وثورات وفرق ومذاهب، كل ذلك بحسب ما يكون عليه القارئ من سعةٍ في الثقافة وإحاطة في المواضيع التي يتعرض لها في مجالس العزاء.
وعلى ضوء ذلك لا بد من الإشارة إلى أمرين ولو بنحو الإختصار الأول التَّحفظُ على كثير مما يُعرض على بعض الفضائيات وفي مجالس العزاء من التركيز على بعض الأمور الغيبية أو الخارجة عن المألوف.
الأمر الثاني: أننا بحاجة إلى جهة يكون لها دور الإشراف والرعاية للذين يتصدُّون للقيام بقراءة مجالس العزاء، ولو بتأسيس معاهد يكون مُهِمَّتها تخريج الطُّلاب المجيدين لقراءة مجالس العزاء.
