وينهد هذا الكتاب "الإمام الحسين: عملاق الفكر الثوري" بالإجابة على مجمل ما يثار ويستفهم به عن آفاق الثورة. هل كان المناخ السياسي ملائماً لتفجير ثورة كلابلاء؟ هل حققت هذه الثورة نصراً حاسماً؟ ومتى بلغت الفتح؟ هل الثورة إقليمية أو عالمية؟ وكيف نفذت للضمير الإنساني؟ كيف استلهم الثائرون خطوات الثورة واستقبلوا أهدافها؟ لماذا تهز الثورة المسلمين من الأعماق بصوتها الهادر؟ هل استطاع الحاكمون إخماد الثورة وما هي إجراءاته لإجهاضها؟ ما هي آثار الثورة في الاستيعاب الفكر الثوري وتوالي الثورات؟ هل كانت الثورة المسمار الأولى في نعش الحكم الأموي فشيعته إلى الأبد؟
كل هذا الطرح الهائل من التساؤلات العريضة، وأمثاله مما لم يذكر، تجيب عليه هذه الرسالة بروح موضوعية، وتقف عنده بتتبع سياسي فذ، وتعالجه بجهد علمي خالص، وتلخصه بعمق تأريخي محايد. وكان الاستقرار السياسي الفاحص لطبيعة الأحداث خالصة من الشوائب العالقة هدف هذه الرسالة. وكان التأصيل التاريخي النافذ لكشف حقائق الثورة، وأسبابها، ودوافعها، وأهدافها، وإنجازاتها، وأصدائها، وآثارها، وظواهرها، رائد البحث الأول.
