أما بعد، فيقول الفقير المعلل نفسه بعفو ربه القدير، مُعِدَّ قراءة هذا الكتاب اللُّباب، شاء المولى، سبحانه، أن أجد في نفسي قبل سنين ميلاً إلى إخراج هذا الأثر في معرضٍ جديدٍ يجذب أزمة القلوب إليه، ويُسهِّل على الإفهام مواردَ مباحثه ويضاعف إقبالها عليه، ووجدته مشتملاً على جمهرةٍ ما انطوت عليه عيون كُتبِ البلاغة لدى أساطينها في القرنين السابع والثامن الهجريين، مفتاح العلوم للسكاكي، والتلخيص والإيضاح للقزويني، وعروس الأفراح للبهاء السبكي، والمطول للسعد التفتازاني، ووجدتُ مؤلفهُ يُكثرُ الإنتفاع من محصول الشيخ عبد القاهر الجرجاني في رائعته: "دلائل الإعجاز" ويضمن مائدة كتابه جنىً طيباً من كشاف جار الله الزمخشري، ونهاية الإيجاز في دراية الإعجاز للفخر الرازي، والمصباح للبدر بن مالك، وتحرير التحبير لابن أبي الإصبع، والتبيان في البيان للطيبي، وشرح الكافية البديعية لصفي الدين الحلّي، ومفتاحٍ المفتاح للقطب العلامةِ الشيرازي، وخزانة الأدب لابن حجَّة الحموي، وشرح عقود الجُمان للسيوطي.
وقد هدى لي محتوى الكتاب في فنون البلاغة الثلاثة، والمناقشة العقلية والذوقية لمسائل البلاغة التي انطوى عليها، وعربية مصنفه الرصينة الرشيقة، أنه من المظان المرموقة لدرس بلاغي علمي عميقٍ شامل، وأنه خليق ببذل جهدٍ ووكدٍ في إخراجه علمياً محققاً ضابطاً، قدر المستطاع.
