إن الإسلام بمفهومه الصحيح ودلالته القطعية هو روح كل عصر، وليس عباءة محددة لعصر من العصور. والإسلام ليس أفكاراً وكلمات ونصوصاً فقط، وإنما إلى جانب ذلك مواقف ومشاعر وأحاسيس ومن مجموع ذلك ينتج الكيان الإسلامي الشامل المتفاعل والمتحرك عبر الزمان والمكان، ومن هنا كانت شهادته وحضوره في المكان والزمان جزءاً لا يتجزأ من جوهر كيانه. من هنا ومن هذا المفهوم جاز لنا أن نقول: إن هؤلاء الذين يحفظون نصوص الإسلام ولا يتعدون ذلك إلى معرفة كيفية تفاعل هذه النصوص مع الواقع الموضوعي لمعطيات ومحصلات العصر الذي يعيشون فيه لا يمكن أن يخدموا الدعوة لهذا الدين... بل قد يضرون في كثير من الحالات من حيث لا يقصدون.. من هذه الأسس وبالديهيات فإننا نرى أن على الدعوى اتخاذ القرار الحكيم بخطوة حازمة وبالجرأة الذاتية الفاعلة على أن تحاول جاهدة على استحضار الدور الأكاديمي ودفعه ليحمل دوره في هذا المجال، على الأكاديمي أن يتقدم لهذا الدور بالحزم والثقة وإنه يمتلك المصداقية والشرعية التي لا ريب فيها.. الأكاديمي المسلم الواعي هو الذي يشهد على هذا العصر بكل أبعاده الفكرية والثقافية الداعية الأصيل الذي بنت من تربة هذا العصر وجذوره ضاربة في أعماق الأرض لأنه يقف على الكثير من المعارف البشرية في كل مجال من مجالات المعرفة الإنسانية.
ومن هنا فإننا نميز بين الصالة والتقليد، بين الإبداع والنسخ، بين الابتكار والتبعية، بين التخطيط وبين الفوضى والارتجال.
