بين يدينا العدد الرابع من مجلة "كيكا" وهي مجلة أدبية فصلية تعنىّ بشؤون الأدب في العالم، وهي من إصدار الصحافي والكاتب العراقي "صموئيل شمعون" الذي أراد أن تكون هذه المجلة "مفتوحة على جميع الإتجاهات الأدبية والفكرية، ولا تخضع لأي إيديولوجيا أو عقيدة، مجلة ترفض الرقابة وتؤمن بحرية التعبير، مثلما تنأى بنفسها في الوقت ذاته عن الإبتذال بكل أشكاله".
كما إرتأى "صموئيل شمعون" إصدار هذه المجلة في زمن الفوضى هذا، لتعيد -برأيه- الإعتبار إلى دور المجلات الأدبية في العالم العربي في إنتاج أدب عربي خلاق، أدب حقيقي، يحمل جميع المواصفات الجمالية والإبداعية المطلوبة التي تشكل جوهر الأدب، اللغة والموضوع وتقنيات أساليب السرد، وإبتداء من هذا المنظور يمكن القول أن 90 بالمئة مما ينشر في الإنترنت لا علاقة له بالأدب."
لذا عمدت مجلة كيكا للأدب العربي على تخصيص الكثير من صفحاتها للأعمال المتميزة المترجمة من الآداب الأجنبية، أما الأدب العربي الذي يعد جزءاً أساسياً من الأدب العالمي فسوف يحضر في المجلة من خلال أفضل النصوص الإبداعية المكتوبة باللغة العربية.
