هذا الكتاب بحثت فيه التطور الذي يعد أساس تطور أبنية اللغة إلي جوار الزيادة والنقص والنقل والحذف في الأبنية، وقد جعلته وفقاً على الأصوات لندرة البحث فيها.
وقد بحثت فيه أسباب تغير الصوت عن أصله، والعوامل المؤثرة في ذلك، ومراحل هذا التغيير وما ثبت منه وما تغير، والمطرد وغير المطرد، والمشهور والنادر، والمناطق التي ظهر فيها، اللهجة التي تطور فيها.
وتناولت تطور الحركات وما يحدث فيها من تغيرات. وتناولت الأصوات في بعض الألفاظ المبنية كالضمائر وأسماء الإشارة وحروف المعاني.
وقد رصدت تطور اللغة في مراحل تاريخية من خلال النصوص والمعاجم واللهجات والأقوال المأثورة والأشعار، ثم تناولت تطورها في الخطاب المعاصر بعد أن تناولت ظواهر التطور والقوانين اللغوية التي تحكمه، وقد عالجت بعض الظواهر الصوتية المعاصرة واللهجات في موضعها من البحث، وتتبعت الأخطاء الصوتية في النطق، وأثر اللغات الأجنبية والدخيل في الأصوات والتعريب، وأثر الحضارة في تطور اللغة وانتشارها. أسأل الله تعالى أن يتقبل هذا العمل خالصاً لوجهه الكريم، وآخر دعونا أن الحمد الله رب العالمين.
