هذا البحث يتبع حركة التعليم في مصر ولكن الكبار بالأخص فيتناول بالدراسة والبحث بداية فكرة تعليم الكبار وانتقالها إلى مصر من اوروبا التى راجت فيها الفكرة في القرن التاسع عشر وعن البداية يحدثنا فقد كانت الجامعة الشعيبة هى الخطوة الاولى في تعليم الكبار وتثقيفهم وصاحب الفكرة الجامعة الشعبية هى الخطوة الأولى في تعليم الكبار وتثقيفهم وصاحب الفكرة د. أحمد امين كان عرضها على وزير المعارف انذاك "السنهوري باشا" و قد اصدر قرارا بانشائها عام 1945 وكان مقرها في شارع قصر العيني فيبين الكتاب مراحلها وأقسامها. كما أرفق مع الدراسة صور القرارات التى اصدرت مبينة الأهداف من إنشاءها بجمع هذا كله الكتاب الذي بين يديكم مصورا لمرحلة هامة من تاريخ التعليم والثقافي في مصر
