الثقافة الشعبية تلك التي، ينظر إليها على أن حامليها أولئك النفر من تلك الفئة الوضيعة اجتماعياً والفقيرة مادياً واقتصادياً والضعيفة أو الجاهلة ثقافياً.. إلخ إلا أن حقيقة الثقافية الشعبية عكس ذلك تماماً.. إنها الماضي والحاضر والمستقبل وهذا هو تراثنا وحضارتنا، ولما كانت الثقافة الشعبية- بهذا المفهوم- لم تحظ بالإهتمام والتوظيف لذا كان من الهام والضروري العناية والإهتمام بجوانبها المختلفة من معارف وقيم وسلوكيات تحتاج إلى إعادة صياغتها في المجتمعات المعاصرة وتحتاج إلى غرسها في نفوس الأطفال كي يشبوا واعين مقدرين مسئولياتهم.
من هنا جاءت فكرة الدراسات.. ومن هنا كان التناول المنهجي حيث.. عرفنا في المدخل تعريفاً للثقافة الشعبية ومفهومنا الذي نذهب إليه وذلك من خلال عرض لتلك المصطلحات المستخدمة في هذا المجال الذي استقر رأينا عليه ومبررات ذلك، وذلك من خلال الفصول التالية: (الفصل الأول: الثقافة الشعبية في بعض وسائل الإتصال الجماهرية، الفصل الثاني: بعض المواسم الإسلامية في الثقافة الشعبية، الفصل الثالث: عيد شم النسيم- قراءة في بعض نصوص الأدب الشعبي، الفصل الرابع: الثقافة الشعبية والطفل العربي، الفصل الخامس: أدهم الشرقاوي رمز البطولة الشعبية في تاريخ مصر)، فهذه مجموعة دراسات قمت بإعدادها محاولاً فيها عرض الوجه الحقيقي لثقافتنا الشعبية الأمر الذي قد يصحح المفهوم خصوصاً وأننا نعيش في عصر العولمة وما فيه من تطورات وتغيرات كثيرة.
