"...إن هذي الحياة دار أمتحانٍ،/ وتبارٍ بين الورى في الجهود (...) لن يرى الدهر دمعتي، لن يرى/ الدهر انكفائي عن مأربي المنشود/ فأنا الشاعر الذي يجعل القول/ حصاناً، يعدو بدون برود".
في الكتاب قصائد بعض مجريات واقع إنسان عصرنا، ترسم أمنياته بحرف راعش وكلمات صالحة، كونت قصيدة حالمة، تخترق أصداء القارئ بما مرَ عليه في ماض يطل على حاضر يحاول إلى سبل الخلاص "... فالموت آتٍ لا مناص/ أواه قد صمت اليراغ/ لا صوت مسموع سوى صوت الرصاص/ الحكم فينا للرعاع/ ونتوه في شعب الجهالة/ والصراع/ ربَاه لم هذا القصاص؟ (...)". هي صور شعرية ضاجة بالمعاني والدلالات، غنية بالبلاغة جاءت بعناوين مختلفة نذكر منها: "خاتمة النبوة"، "أمي"، يراعي سلاحي"، "متاهة"، "جرحي المفتوح"، "جرحي الدامي"، "درب الدماء"...إلخ.
