أبو الحسن محمد بن أبي ذر يوسف العامري النيسابوري من فلاسفة القرن الرابع الهجري. ولد في مطلع مدينة نيسابور في مطلع القرن الرابع الهجري. تتلمذ على أبو زيد البلخي وتوفي عام 381 هـ. .
مؤلفاته
لأبي الحسن العامري قائمة طويلة من المؤلفات شملت علم العقيدة، ومقارنة الأديان، وتفسير القرآن، والأخلاق، والتربية، وعلم النفس، المنطق والفلسفة، ومؤلفات أخرى في العلوم الطبيعية كعلم النبات والبصريات.
ومن أهم مؤلفاته: شروح على كتب أرسطو ثم النُّسك العقلي، والإبصار والمبصر، والإعلام بمناقب الإسلام، والسعادة والإسعاد في السيرة الإنسانية ثم مجموعة كتب ورسائل تشمل: إنقاذ البشر من الجبر والقدر ثم التقرير لأوجه التقدير (وهو بيان لوجوه الحكمة الإلهية في خلق الكون وتدبيره)، والأمد علي الأبد والسعادة والإسعاد في السيرة الإنسانية، والفصول في المعالم الإلهية.

كتابُ السَّعادة والإسعاد في قسمه الأول (السَّعادَة) تلخيصٌ لكتابِ علم الأخلاق إلى نيقوماخوس لأرسطو وتعليقٌ عليه.
أما في قسمه الثاني (الإسعاد) فهو تلخيصٌ لكتابِ السياسة لأفلاطون (المُسمَّى خطأ الجمهورية) مع إضافات وتعليقات أيضاً، وقد أدرك هذه الحقيقة فرانز روزنتال منذ خمسينيّات القرن الماضي.
ثُمَّ زاد الأَمرَ تدقيقاً وتحقيقاً عبدُ الرَّحمن بدوي في نشرته الجيَّدة للتَّرجمة العربيَّة لإسحاق بنِ حُنَيْن لكتاب عِلم الأخلاق إلى نيقوماخوس، وقد أراد بدوي في البداية إستعمال مخطوطة "السَّعادة والإسعاد" في تصحيح صفحات من مخطوطة علم الأخلاق المُترجمة وتحريرها؛ لِما رأهُ من كثرة النُّقُول عن كتاب علم الأخلاق هذا، ثمّ تبيَّن له أنَّ التَّرجمة التي أخذ عنها صاحبُ السعادة، والإسعاد غيرُ ترجمة إسحاق بن حُنين.
على الرَّغم من التشابُه الكبير بينْهُما، فرجَّح بدوي أن لا بُدَّ من أن تكون هُناك ترجمةٌ أخرى أقدمُ استعملَها صاحبُ كتاب السَّعادة والإسعاد.
