"وستكون دنسكو أو اليونسكو للبيع هذه نهاية الحضارة"... وهل في ذلك ضير "وضمير العالم المكروب لا يضيره أن يرقص قليلاً".. يرقص قليلاً أو يرقص كثيراً ليست هي المشكلة، إنما المشكلة أنه "ماذا يتبغي للإنسانية إذا بيعت هذه الإدراة... هنا نبض الإنسانية هنا روحها... هنا أملها..." يمضي القصيبي في نبرة ألم ممزوجة بالسخرية في تسجيل وقائع هذه الانتخابات الديموقراطية، وبالأحرى الانتخابات الديموقراطية بواقع بعيد عن الديموقراطي... بأسماء كأنها غير مستعارة... توصل القارئ إلى الحقيقة من غير معين.
