تعتبر عملية تحضير الشرائح النسيجية عملية فنية دقيقة، عليها يبنى التشخيص النهائي للمرض، وكلما كانت عملية تحضير الشرائح دقيقة كلما ساعد ذلك في التشخيص بشكل سريع مما يساعد في علاج المريض بشكل سريع وصحيح.
ونتيجة للتطور الكبير الذي طرأ على هذا العلم انطلاقاً من ابتكار أجهزة جديدة تستخدم فيه. فقد ارتأى المؤلف إضافة بعض التغيرات الحديثة على طبعة كتابه هذه الجديدة والمنقحة حيث حاول ربط المحتوى الكيميائي للنسيج بتركيبه الجزيئي مع محاولة توضيح آلية التفاعلات المستخدمة للكشف عن المحتوى الكيميائي النسيجي مع التركيز على الأساس النظري والتطبيقي لتقنية هذا العلم. كما أغنى هذا الكتاب بالصور الملونة.
وفي هذا الإطار شرح بشيء من التفصيل كيفية تحضير الشرائح النسيجية ابتداء من استلامها وحتى تصبح شرائح نسيجية، فتحدث في وحدة الكتاب الأولى عن التثبيت والمثبتات ونزع الكلس والثانية عن معالجة الأنسجة والثالثة عن أجهزة قطع الأنسجة ثم في الرابعة عن الصياغة، أما الخامسة فتحوي على التجميد السريع للأنسجة والسادسة عن علم الخلايا والسابعة عن إزالة الصبغات واختتم الكتاب بوحدة عن السلامة في مختبرات الباثولوجي.
هذا وقد حرص كل الحرص أن يكون الكتاب بلغة عربية سهلة خالية من التعقيد وبأسلوب علمي واضح كما حرص أن تكون مفردات هذا المنهاج شاملة المنهاج الذي وضعته جامعة البلقاء التطبيقية لطلبة المختبرات الطبية ليكون مفيداً لطلاب ومعيناً لهم في دراستهم.
