تغيب المرأة ليلة أو ليلتين، ثم تظهر من جديد وهي تجري في الطرقات تنادي بنفس النبرة الرتيبة، الشئ الذي حير بعض الناس أن السيدة لم يحدث أبداً أن وقفت مرة لتسأل أحداً، أو تستمع لرأي أحد يود مساعدتها، فيما تساءل البعض الآخر أين تعيش هذه السيدة، ومن يقوم على رعايتها، هل لها زوج ولماذا لا يشاركها البحث عن ابنهما الضال، ربما كان متوفياً، أو ربما كان يبحث هو الآخر ولكن في أحياء أخرى، أو قد يكون هذا الشخص الضال هو زوجها نفسه، ثم ما كل هذا الدأب والإصرار على البحث في حيهم طوال هذه الشهور دونما أي بارقة لأمل، ولماذا لا يسمعونها سوى في الليل فقط، أليس من الأفضل لها أن تبحث في وضح النهار.
