يختص هذا الكتاب بالشأن الفلسطيني ويضك أبحاثاً فلسطينية حول النظام والمجتمع والدولة في إسرائيل، جاءت ثمرة ورشة عمل تدريبية تمت في المركز الفلسطيني للدراسات الإسرائيلية "مدار" رام الله، بعنوان "قراءات نقدية في المجتمع والدولة في إسرائيل" والأبحاث المنشورة في هذا الكتاب هي عبارة عن خلاصة جزئية للتدريب على المنهج العلمي النقدي في بحث النظام الإستعماري في فلسطين عبر ثلاثة محاور رئيسية هي: التاريخ الإجتماعي للنظام الإسرائيلي، الكتابة النقدية وقواعدها، المواقف الفلسطينية الممكن بلورتها اتجاه النظام الإسرائيلي عبر استخدام القراءة / الكتابة النقدية.
تتميز الأبحاث هنا بالتركيز على محاور عينية ذات بُعد إمبريقي واضح من السهل الوصول إليه والإنشباك البحثي معه هو النص المطبوع. فمن جانبه قام أمين دراوشة بمحاولة جادة لفحص نص روائي هو "العاشق" للروائي الإسرائيلي أبراهام يهوشواع. أما هاني عواد فلقد قام هو الآخر باختيار مدونة نصية واضحة المعالم الإمبريقية هي كتابات المؤرخ محمد عزة دروزة. من جانبها قامت آيات حمدان بفحص وثائق وروايات كتبها فلسطينيون لتتحقق من شكل قبولهم / رفضهم للنظام الإستعماري. أما سعيد يقين فقام بتجميع نصوص من أنواع مختلفة ليستخلص عبرها مدى وكيفية تجذّر الوعي الجمعي الجيتوي الذي يقف بأساس بناء جدار الفصل. أما الباحثان محمود فطافطة ونظام السايس، فعلى الرغم من أن ظاهرتي بحثيهما لا تتطلبان ضرورة الإعتماد على مادة نصية مطبوعة، فلقد استندا بالأساس إلى مواد نصية مطبوعة لإثبات ما ذهبا إليه في مداخلاتهما حول طبيعة تمظهر الدين في الحركة الصهيونية لدى فطافطة، وحول أنماط العنصرية اتجاه فلسطيني 48 لدى السايس ...
