يتناول هذا الكتاب "الدليل العملي لإختبارات التربة" التجارب المعملية للتربة حيث يغطي هذا الكتاب مفردات المنهج المطلوبة بمعامل التربة لمرحلة التعليم الجامعي في العديد من كليات الهندسة المدنية والمعاهد الهندسية العليا كما يمكن أن يستفاد منه في تدريب المهندسين والفنيين الهندسيين بالمؤسسات وشركات المقاولات في مجال تنفيذ الأعمال المدنية بالمشروعات العامة والخاصة، وقد اعتمد في إعداده عدة المصادر والمراجع المتوافقة مع المواصفات القياسية لإختبارات التربة التي من أشهرها مواصفات الجمعية الأمريكية لإختبار المواد (ASTM)، والمنظمة الأمريكية لإختبارات الطرق (AASHTO).
وقدمت مادة هذا الكتاب بلغة سهلة وأسلوب مبسط وزودة بمجموعة من الصور والرسومات التوضيحية لمعدات وأدوات الإختبار لكل تجربة والمنحنيات اللازمة والعلاقات الرياضية لكل منها، وجداول تدوين البيانات والنتائج كما زود ببعض المصطلحات باللغة الإنجليزية لزيادة المعرفة ومن أجل أن تكون مادة الكتاب أكثر متعة وفائدة، واعتقد أن هذا الكتاب سيستهوي الكثير من طلبة الكليات والمعاهد العليا للهندسة المدنية والهندسة المعمارية والمهتمين بتقنية التربة والإنشاءات.
