يتناول هذا الكتاب "الدليل العملي لإختبارات مواد إنشاء الطرق" التجارب المعملية للمكونات الأساسية للخلطة البيتومينية المكونة أساساً من البيتومين والركام حيث يغطي هذا الكتاب مفردات المنهج المطلوبة بمعامل هندسة الطرق لمرحلة التعليم الجامعي في العديد من كليات الهندسة المدنية والمعاهد الهندسية العليا، والغرض منه سد الثغرات الناجمة عن نقص المراجع المختصة بإختبارات مواد إنشاء الطرق هذا من ناحية ومن ناحية أخرى مساعدة الطلب في إستيعاب المقرر بالشكل المطلوب، كما يمكن أن يستفاد منه في تدريب المهندسين والفنيين الهندسيين بالمؤسسات وشركات المقاولات في مجال تنفيذ أعمال رصف الطرق والمطارات ومحطات وقوف السيارات، وقد اعتمد في إعداده على عدة مصادر ومراجع متوافقة مع المواصفات القياسية لإختبارات البيتومين والركام التي من أشهرها مواصفات الجمعية الأمريكية لإختبار المواد (ASTM)، والمنظمة الأمريكية لإختبارات الطرق (AASHTO).
وقدمت مادة هذا الكتاب بلغة سهلة وأسلوب مبسط وزودة بمجموعة من الصور والرسومات التوضيحية لمعدات وأدوات الإختبار لكل تجربة والمنحنيات اللازمة والعلاقات الرياضية لكل منها، وجداول تدوين البيانات والنتائج كما زود ببعض المصطلحات باللغة الإنجليزية لزيادة المعرفة ومن أجل أن تكون مادة الكتاب أكثر متعة وفائدة، واعتقد أن هذا الكتاب سيستهوي الكثير من طلبة الكليات والمعاهد العليا للهندسة المدنية والهندسية المعمارية والمهتمين بتقنية واختبارات مواد إنشاء الطرق والمطارات وغيرها من الإنشاءات ذات العلاقة.
