Book Description
يقول المصنف داود بن عمر الأنطاكي بأن العلم علمان: علم الحكمة الإلهية المتطفل بالقواعد الشرعية والعقلية، وهذا قد تم تشييده، وعلم في العلوم الإنسانية عامة، ومنها الطب الذي يتعلق بالإنسان وصحته ومرضه ودواؤه وشفائه، وهذا العلم لم يصنف فيه إلا القليل لذا دوّن كتابه هذا "تذكرة أولى الألباب، والجامع للعجب العجاب": ورتبه حسبما ارتأى على مقدمة وأربعة أبواب، وخاتمة. أما المقدمة ففي تعداد العلوم المذكورة في هذا الكتاب، وحال الطب معها، ومكانته وما ينبغي له ولمتعاطيه، وما يتعلق بذلك من الفوائد.
والباب الأول في كليات هذا العلم والمدخل إليه، والباب الثاني في قوانين الأفراد والتركيب وأعماله العامة وما ينبغي عليه من الخدمة في نحو السحق والقلي والغلي والجمع والإفراد والمراتب والدرج، وأوصاف المقطع والملين والمفتح إلى غير ذلك، والباب الثالث في المفردات والمركبات وما يتعلق بها من اسم وماهية ومرتبة ونقع وضرر وقدر وبدل وإصلاح، مرتباً على حروف المعجم، والباب الرابع: في الأمراض وما يخصها من العلاج وسط العلوم المذكورة وما يخص العلم من النفع وما يناسبه من الأمزجة وما له من المدخل في العلاج، والخاتمة في نكت وغرائب ولطائف وعجائب والتي سردها ضمن فصول منها فصل في كيفية الغذاء وفساده، في مقدار الماء الذي يشربه المهموم عند العطش، فصل في حكماء اليونان إذا أشكل عليهم حال المريض خلوا بينه وبين الطبيعة، فصل في محبة الرجال والنساء، وعاد آخر السنة.
