من الصف الأول حتى التخرج الجامعي في مدرسة الصحافة، حملت القلم سيفاً ورسالة.. ما أسأت في الطعن ولا تهاونت في الأداء كانت جندياً يحمل القلم ويسطر به نقاء الكلمة.. حفظت أمانة المهنة وأدّيت رسالتها في الميادين التي عملت وأُشهد الله ومن عرفني إنني كنت أميناً في الأداء صادقاً في العطاء وبقيت مثابراً سخياً حتى فرض الزمن أحكامه وأصبح السيف أصدق أنباء من الكتب، فمشيت خطى في دنيا الله الواسعة أبحث عن الرزق باباء النفس فزرت بلاداً كثيرة وعملت حيث استطعت ونجحت وحققت ما سعيت له وعملت لأجله، تعبت وإذا كانت النفوس كباراً تعبت في مرادها الأجساد ولم يكن تعبي فقط فق السعي وراء المادة فوطني لم أنسه ولم أتخلّ عنه وعملت له ومن أجله كما تظهر ذلك فصول هذا الكتاب.. فأنا مؤمن أن بلادي وإن جارت عليّ عزيزة وقومي وإن ضنوا عليّ كرام..
وهو قصّة من الحياة يكتبها إنسان آمن أن الحياة هي وقفة عز وسخاء في العطاء.. وهو وثائقي فيما حواه وتاريخي يؤرخ لمرحلة هامّة من العمل الصحفي فهو يحوي أسماء وصور العاملين في ميدان الصحافة حالياً وسابقاً، الأحياء منهم والأموات مع ومضات عن مواقفهم.. لتبقى ذكراهم في أحضان التاريخ تشهد على ما قدمه شموع المعبد. ما دونته كنت أميناً على كل حرف كتبته وواقعة ذكرتها ولعلني وفيت وأوفيت.
