جاء ديوان الشاعر السوري منذر مصري تحت عنوان "الصدى الذي أخطأ "، و هو المنجز الشعري الثامن في مشواره الذي بدأه بمجموعته الشعرية الأولى عام 1979، يعد منذر مصري من الشعراء البارزين في قصيدة النثر. تتسم قصائده بالشفافية، وبالصور البصرية البديعة، وبموضوعاتها الحية والخصبة التي تقتفي أثر تفاصيل التفاصيل في حياة الناس، وتعكس هويتهم. له روح تشبه إلى حد ما روح قصيدة النثر المتمردة والمنعتقة المتحررة من قوالب الشعر العربي. يُعرف عنه ميله للمفردة الخام والتي يجاهد في أن ينأى بها عن الصقل والتلميع والافتعال. يستشعر قارئه عفوية مفردته، وبساطتها التي تنطوي على فتنة، والبعيدة كل البعد عن غطرسة اللغة.
وجاء على غلاف مقتطفات من مقدمة التي كتبها الشاعر وفيها: "إلاّ أن قصائد (أجابني الصدى اسماً آخر) هي التي تجعل مترجمة مختاراتي (أهل الساحل) للغة الفرنسية، السيدة كلود كرال، القارئة الشاملة والمدققة لتجربتي بحكم عملها، تؤكّد أن (الصدى الذي أخطأ) أهم مجموعاتي الشعرية قاطبة. ما أرجوه هو أن لا يوافقها سوى القلّة على رأيها هذا لأن المجموعة بالنسبة لي لا يمكن أن أعتبرها أكثر من نهاية ذلك الطريق الذي: (بدأ واسعاً في أولِه، ثم ضاقَ شيئاً فشيئاً، وهو يمضي قدماً إلى حافةِ، الأفق، حتّى انتهى بنقطة).
بعد هذه النقطة، لم يكن أمامي من خيار إلا أن أبحث عن خط بداية أخرى، عن طريق مفتوح آخر، عن حافة أفق آخر. عن نقطة نهاية أخرى. حيث مرة أخرى، يؤكّد الشعر كونه مصيراً، وكونه قدراً.."
