هذه محاولة لشرح قواعد التمثيلية. يرجو كاتبها أن تعين المبتدئ الذي يريد أن يفهم مسرحية أو تمثيلية. وقد كتبها في الأصل لطلاب كلية اللغة العربية في الرياض محاولاً أن يبسط المعقد، ويوضح الغامض ويقرب النائي. من قضايا هذا الفن الوافد الغريب. وهذه المحاولة في التمثيلية، تتم محاولة سابقة له في ( فن القصة ) ونصب عينه أن يقدم للقارئ قواعد الفن والقصص، مشبعة بروح إسلامية، فالكتابة عن قواعد فن التمثيل بدون إلتزام بمنهج يحاول أسلمة ما يحتاج إلى صهر في الهوية الإسلامية، والعادات العربية، أمر ليس من أولويات الكاتب، ولكن محاولة البحث عن القواعد مع هاجس الإسلامية، أمر له الأولوية، فميدان القصة عامة والتمثيلية خاصة، لا زال خاضعاً في التطابيق والتفكير للفلسفات الأجنبية،وما فيها من إتجاهات علمانية وشيوعية ووجودية، ونظريات إجتماعية ونفسية، يحتاج فرزها إلى جهود متضافرة. ولا ريب أن تجربتنا القصصية والتمثيلية متواضعة، إذا قورنت بما لدى الأمم الأخرى الأمريكية والبريطانية والفرنسية والألمانية والإسبانية ونحوها. وهي أشد تواضعاً ونقصاً إذا نظرنا إليها نظرة تقويم من خلال منظار إسلامي. ومن أجل ذلك كتبت هذه المحاولة التي رجوت أن تساعد مشاهد التمثيلية على أن يتذوق ويفهم ويستمتع بما يقرأ أو يشاهد، وأن يحلل عناصرها فيفهم ماظهر وما خفى منها، وربما ساعدت الدارس والمثقف على تحليل هذين الفنين ونقدهما.
