إيماناً مني بأهمية التواصل مع الآخرين من خلال ما اكتسبته من خبرة مهنية في مجال هندسة العمارة التي درستها في جامعة الباوهاوس بألمانيا ومن خلال ممارستي لأعمال التصميم المعماري وإشرافي على العديد من المشروعات السكنية والصناعية والترفيهية وغيرها لأكثر من ربع قرن، فإني أضع هذا الكتاب بين يدي القراء على أمل أن يفيدوا منه، وأن يسترشدوا به في عملية صناعة العقار بدءً من مرحلة التفكير بشراء الأرض مروراً بالبناء وحتى الإستعمال.
ففي الباب الأول، تم التطرق إلى الأرض اللازمة لإقامة العقار عليها، وتم تقديم إراشادات للوصول إلى الإختيار الأفضل، من حيث الطوبوغرافيا، والموقع من الشارع المحاذي لها، ومن الناحية الجيولوجية والتنظيمية، أما في الباب الثاني، فتمت مناقشة الأعمال التحضيرية التي تسبق الشروع بعملية البناء مثل إعداد المخططات الهندسية حتى الحصول على رخصة الإنشاءات، بينما يناقش الباب الثالث، مراحل تنفيذ البناء بدء من الحفريات حتى أعمال التسليح وصب الخرسانة، وهذا كله يحتاج إلى مواد بناء ما كان ليقوم الهيكل من دونها.
ستة وثلاثين نوعاً من مواد البناء التي تستحوذ على النصيب الأكبر من هذا الكتاب تم عرضها بشيء من التخصص مشفوعة بالصور الملونة، فمنها المواد الطبيعية كالركام (الحصمة) والحجر والخشب، أو المواد المصنعة كالطوب بأنواعه والمواد البلاستيكية والبرونز والذهب والفضة المشغولة لإضفاء الفخامة والألق للمباني.
إن هذا الكتاب يمكن أن يعد دليلاً للمواطن العادي من غير المهندسين الذي يرغب بمواكبة عملية البناء التي ينفذها، وكذلك مرجعاً لطلبة العمارة والهندسة بكلفة تخصصاتها، للتعرف على خصائص مواد البناء وكيفية ومكان إستعمالها الأمثل خلال عملية صناعة العقار، فنحن جميعاً مواطنين كنا أم مهنيين محترفين، نحن صُناع العقار ومستخدميه، في أمس الحاجة إلى بناء آمن مشيد وفقاً لأفضل المعايير والممارسات الهندسية السليمة.
