يحيط الكثير من اللبس والغموض بنشأة حزب الله وتطوره في اليمن المعاصر، وتعرض زعيمه القاضي محمد بن محمو الزبيري لاغتيال سياسي في ظروف غامضة. سوف أسلط الضوء في هذه الدراسة على تجربة حزب الله، مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار مدى تأثير زعامته بأفكار ومبادئ تنظيم الإخوان المسلمين في مصر، ومحاولة تطبيق بعض برامجة في الساحة اليمنية. ولا تتعدى الفترة التاريخية التي نتناولها بالدراسة والبحث ثلاثة أعوام، وهي فترة مزدحمة بالأحداث التاريخية والوقائع السياسية-تحديداً منذ قيام ثورة 26 سبتمبر من عام 1962، حتى تاريخ اغتياله في مطلع شهر إبريل 1965.
إن الغاية من هذا البحث استقصاء مدى الدور الذي لعبه الزبير في قيادة المعارضة في العهدين الملكي والجمهوري. ولذا فإن الدراسة تحمل أهمية خاصة، لأنها تحلل وتناقش أموراً ما زالت مثار جدل وخلاف في الأوساط العلمية؛ وتفتح الباب على مصراعيه أمام إمكانية التقييم التاريخي لتجربة حزب الله وزعامته. فثمة فكرتان متضادتان في وصف سيرة الزبيري الذاتية: الأولى تظهره كمؤسس فعلي لتنظيم جماعة الإخوان المسلمين في اليمن. وفي الطرف المقابل يرفض كثير من الكتاب المشايعين للزبيري رفضاً قاطعاً هذه المقولة. القاضي الزبيري، من وجهة نظرهم، لا ينتمي إلا لحركة الأحرار اليمنيين كعقيدة سياسية تنبع من واقع اليمن، ويعتنق اتباعها الشورى والدستور، وقد والاها طيلة حياته حتى تاريخ وفاته.
