يمثل (المكان) قضيّة فلسفيّة وجماليّة بالغة الأهمية، ولقد انعكس ذلك بوضوح على دلالات المكان في روايات الغيطاني، سواء فيما يخصُّ علاقة المكان بالحاجات الإنسانيّة في سياقها التاريخي والإجتماعي والروحيّ، أو فيما يخصُّ دلالات المكان الجماليّة في تشييد البنية الروائيّة.
ولقد جاءت المحاور التي قامت الدراسة بالرّبط بينها وبين المكان على النحو التالي: الذاكرة، والمرأة، والسَّفر، والعجائبيّة، والنتيجة العامة التي أمكن للدّراسة رَصْدها هي أن هذه المَحاور تمثّل الإتّجاهات الأساسية في قضية المكان عند الغيطاني.
ولقد خصّصت الدّراسة فصلاً لتحليل (البناء الفني للمكان)؛ وذلك بغاية الكشف عن الوسائل الفنية، والغايات الجمالية التي شكّل بها الغيظاني صورة المكان في إبداعه الرّوائيّ.
