بين يدينا معجم لغوي فريد جعله مؤلفه مطالب، منها ما يتناول الإنسان وكل ما يتعلق به، ومنها ما يتناول الحيوان والطير والهوام، ومنها ما يتناول كل ما في السماء والأرض، مما خلق الله وأبدع جلت قدرته! ومن مزايا هذا المعجم أنه يبرز طوائف من المسميات في أفصح مفردات اللفظ العربي، وأشدها وقعاً في النفس، وبدل من جهة ثانية، على اللفظ العامين وما يشبه العامي ركاكة وابتذالاً، لتجنب استعماله في الكلام البليغ الفصيح، فضلاً عن أنه يعطي أحياناً، اللفظة الفصيحة الواحدة معاني الجملة، فيأتي كلام المنشئ في ذروة البلاغة والبيان.
ولم يغفل المؤلف أن يأتي بطائفة من المترادفات إذ يلبس المعنى الواحد عدداً من قوالب اللفظ الفصيح! إن الرافد هو، بلا جدال في ضلائع المعاجم العربية الحديثة المفيدة، المتميزة بالتصنيف العلمي فهو يمد المنشئين بأضخم طاقة من الألفاظ اللغوية الصحيحة الفصيحة فيعنيهم عن مشقة البحث والتنقيب في العشرات من معاجم العربية وأسفارها ولا غرو أن يتلقاه المستشرقون والكتاب والأدباء والأساتذة والطلب كما يتلقى الظمآء الماء النمير.
