يعرض هذا الكتاب أبحاثاً مختصة في موضوع سينوغرافيا العرض المسرحي وهي ما تضمنته أعمال الدورة الرابعة حول السينوغرافيا - مملكة البحرين - في عام 1995. لذلك سيطالع القارىء عناوين جديدة تخطها أبحاث هذه الندوة وهي: 1- سينوغرافيا الأمكنة المهجورة / د. جواد الأسدي. 2- قضايا التأسيس النظري لسينوغرافيا العرض المسرحي: من الشعرية الكلاسيكية إلى تنسيق الفضاء المسرحي الحديث / د. عبد الرحمن بن زيدان. 3- سينوغرافيا العرض المسرحي الحديث / د. عوني كرومي. 4- سينوغرافيا الجسد في المسرح / يوسف حمدان. 5- السينوغرافيا "رؤيا" / راشد أحمد الشمراني.
كل هذه المحاور تبدو كفيلة بفتح منصة عريضة وجريئة للحوار حول السينوغرافيا، وقد كان من حسن طالع أعمال هذه الندورة أن يشارك فيها عدد كبير من المخرجين والنقاد في الوطن العربي .. وخاصة من البلدان التي قطع فيها الإشتغال بالسينوغرافيا خطوات متقدمة، والذين عرفوا بمثاقفتهم لثقافة سينوغرافيا العرض بكل ما فيها من شروط جديدة غير مألوفة ومن قدرة على إقتحام الأشكال الحداثية المغايرة، ليس على مستوى تقنيات الإخراج والتمثيل فحسب وإنما على مستوى بناء وتصميم العرض المسرحي بشكل عام.
