بين يدينا المجلد الأول من المجلدين الذين احتويا على تحقيق وترجمة لخمس مخطوطات عثمانية نادرة عُثر عليها في مكتبات أستانبول وكلها تتعلق بجغرافية جزيرة العرب يعود تأليفها إلى الفترة الممتدة ما بين القرنين السادس عشر والعشرين.
المخطوطة الأولى كانت موجودة في مكتبة السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني في أستانبول، تحت عنوان "معلوماتنا عن جزيرة العرب" لمحمد كامل بن نعمان الحمصي المعروف بابن الدوامى الحمصي وهي كتاب أتمه مؤلفه عام 1312هــ وكانت في أصلها عبارة عن تقرير جغرافي قدمه إلى السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني.
والمخطوطة الثانية الموضوعة عام 1909 تحت عنوان "رحلة المفتش العثماني علي سعاد في الخليج والجزيرة العربية"، وتعتبر هذه الرحلة أنموذجاً من هذا النوع من أدب الرحلات.
والمخطوطة الثالثة "رحلة الحجاز" لسليمان شفيق بن علي كمال الشهير بسويلمز أوغلو وهو ينحدر من عائلة سويله مز أوغلى في مدينة أرضروم في تركيا ولد في سنة 1964، والحرلة التي بين أيدينا بدأها في 13 رمضان سنة 1307هـ/ 3 حزيران 1890م ودون فيها كل ما لفت إنتباهه في الطريق من استانبول حتى الحرمين الشريفين.
والمخطوطة الرابعة تحت عنوان "رحلة عالي بك إلى العراق العثماني والهند" وكان صحفياً ويشغل في الوقت نفسه منصب مدير الديون العمومية بالدولة العثمانية.
والمخطوطة الخامسة والأخيرة عنوان "رحلة سيدي على ريس قبطان البحر العثماني في الخليج العربي إلى الهند وآسيا الوسطى" على عهد السلطان سليمان القانوني العثماني (1520- 1568م)، ويعتبر سيدي على من مشاهير رجال البحرية والأدب، والرياضيات العثمانيين.
هذان المجلدان ترجما وحققا عن اللغة التركية - الحرف العثماني من قبل باحثين مختصين وأستاذين بارزين في حقل الدراسات العثمانية، وقد استحقا عن عملهما القيم بإمتياز جائزة ابن بطوطة - فرع الرحلات الكلاسيكية.
