تحكي هذه الرواية عن شخص يدعي فخر الدين تدور حول بعض الأحداث في حياته. حيث أدرك أن جوًا غريبًا قد سيطر فلا أحد في الشوارع أغلقت كل البيوت والبوابات والمتاجر ثم من خلال صوت داميًا متفجر سقط فخر الدين سقطة واحدة على رصيف الشارع غارقًا في دمه ثم صمتت الرشاشات الآلية، يطل وجه أحد الجنود من باب بيت مقابل شاهرًا سلاحه في اتجاه الجسد الممدد على الرصيف أقترب منه ودفعه بقدميه فقلبه على ظهره وركله ليتأكد من موته. ومن خلال باقي الأحداث نتعرف على تلك الرواية المثيرة.
