قد يراه البعض منفرداً بشخصه وباسمه، وقد يراه آخرون مختلطاص مع سيدنا إلياس، كما يقرنه آخرون بصاحب الحرية الشهيد ماري جرجس، الذي يسميه البعض الخضر، والذي يراه بعض المسلمين من الرسل المذكورين في سورة "يس"، هذا يفسر احتفال المسلمين والمسيحيين بمولده في الأديرة المسماه باسمه في أرجاء مصر، إن الخضر عند البعض بصفته واسمه، وعند الآخرين هو كل هؤلاء، هو كل الموجودين في هند وإيران والعالم العربي.
