كنت أتوق إلى نشر كتاب في علم الكلام، والقضاء والقدر، وأفعال العباد لعالم سلفي كبير سليم العقيدة غير زائغها بعيد عن مذهب المجسمة، والمعتزلة، والجبرية، لا مقصد لي من وراء ذلك سوى خدمة العلم، ونشر مؤلفات السلف الصالح.
لهذا كله لم أدع المناسبات تمر هباء، وتذهب جفاء بل كنت لا أكاد أسمع عن كتاب في هذا الفن إلا بحثت عنه وسعيت إليه ولشرف مقصدي ونبل غايتي لم أرجع بصفقة المغبون ولا بخفي حنين، فألهم الله جل شأنه أستاذنا العلامة الشيخ محمد زاهد بن الحسن الكوثري، فأرشدني إلى كتاب "اللمعة" لمؤلفه العلامة التحرير المرحوم الشيخ إبراهيم الحلبي وطلب مني، أن أطلع على الكتاب وأبحثه قبل الإقدام على نشره ومن أين لمثلي أن يبحث ويبدي رأيًا في كتاب ألفه العلامة الحلبي واستحسنه أستاذنا الكوثري، ولكني تنفيذًا لأمره وتحقيقًا لرغبته اطلعت على الكتاب وقرأته فوجدته آية في تحقيق مباحث الوجود ومعجزة في فلسفة القضاء والقدر وتكليف العباد لأن مؤلفه البارع لم يترك رأيًا من الآراء الخاصة بهذه المواضيع إلا بحثها بحثًا وافيًا ومحصًا تمحيصًا دقيقًا، فبينما نجده يذكر آراء الفيلسوف "ثاليس" في مبحث الوجود ينتقل إلى كلمة الفارابي في الجمع بين رأي "أفلاطون" و"أرسطو" ثم يعرج على أقوال صاحب القبسات ومنها إلى رأي "الأشعري" و"الصدر الشيرازي" و"الطوسي" وجمهور الحكماء.
ثم يذكر رأي "أبي البقاء" و"علاء الدولة السمناني" والمحقق "البياضي" و"أبي إسحاق الاسفرايني" و"أبي الحسن البصري" وصاحب الكشاف و"الرازي" و"الأصفهاني" و"إمام الحرمين" وابن العربي هذا على الكلام على آراء الجبرية، والمعتزلة، والمشائين والإشراقيين، والإمامية. إلى غير ذلك من البحوث الفريدة المتفرقة في شتى الكتب، حتى أن الباحث المجد في هذا العلم لو أراد الإطلاع على ما دونه المؤلف في هذا الكتاب الصغير الحجم الغزير المادة والكبير الفائدة في متفرقات الكتب لاستغراق منه ذلك زمنًا ليس بالقليل. هذا فضلًا عما سيتكبده من المشقة في البحث والتنقيب.
