كان هو الذى قاد أقوى المعارك ضد اليهود, وأذاقهم الكثير من الآلام والجراح وحرمهم نعمة الأمن والسكينة, ويضيف التاريخ: أن النمر-كما كانوا يطلقون عليه. كان متجها مساء 22 من أغسطس 1948م ليلتقى بالقائد العام, كانت العربة تمضى فى صمت وحذر, فالنطقة مستهدفة من الصهاينة, ولم تكن تظهر فيها أية حركة حتى تطلق عليها قوى البغى مدافعها الثقيلة ورشاشاتها, وظلت العربة تمضى فى تمهل وحذر لتجاوز المنطقة الخطر فى (عراق المنشية) وحين اقتربت من معسكرات الجيش المصرى, المنطقة (الآمنة) دوى فى ظلام الليل رصاصات استقرت فى قلبه ثلاث دقائق راحت تغيب فيه عيون البطل بعيدا.
وبدأ التحقيق 1948.. ومازال التحقيق مستمرا حتى اليوم. هذا هو الحادث التاريخى الذى سعى الكاتب لإعادة صياغته دراميا. فمازال الواقع التارخى الذى سعى الكاتب لإعادة صياغته دراميا. فمازال الواقع كماهو, ومازال الحادث يخضع لإجراءات التحقيق, ومازال التحقيق جاريا.. لنترك التحقيق ونعود إلى النص الدرامى الذى انتهى إليه المؤلف.
