فى هذا الكتاب أتناول شخصية من شوامخ الفكر الإسلامى وهو الإمام الغزالى. والحقيقة أنه منذ أكثر من تسعة قرون من الزمان كان مولد الإمام الغزالى-رضى الله عنه- الذى عاش حياته مفكرا إسلاميا ثرى العطاء, متوقد الذهن, أحدث بروح وعقله ثورة عظيمة فى مجال الفكر الإسلامى والفلسفة والتصوف.
وكان هدفه البحث عن الحقيقة, ووضح صدقه من خلال قوله: "وقد كان التعطش إلى درك حقائق الأمور رأيى وديدنى, من أول أمرى, وريعان عمرى, غريزة وفطرة من الله, وضعتا فى جبلتى, لا باختيارى وحيلتى".
