Book Description
"محمد بن علي بن أمد بن محمد بن عبد الله، سراج الدين، أبو حفص الأندلسي ثم المصري" هو مؤلف هذا الكتاب وهو الملقب بابن الملقّن. ولد في الثاني والعشرين من شهر ربيع الأول سنة ثلاث وعشرين وسبعمائة. توفي والده وكان عمره عام واحد، وكفله أصدقائه عيسى المغربي وكان يلقن الناس القرآن ولذلك سمي الملقّن، ونسب إليه المؤلف، فسمي ابن الملقّن أخذ الفقه عن الإمام أبو الحسن السبكي وعن أبو العباس أحمد بن عمر النشائي وعن ابن جماعة وأخذ القراءات عن برهان الدين الرشيدي، وأخذ العربية عن أبي حيان محمد بن يوسف الغرناطي وسمع الحديث من بن سيد الناس ومن قطب الدين عبد الكريم بن عبد النور الحلبي وعن غيرهم من محدثي عصره المشهورين.
أنشأ ابن الملقب مكتبة ضخمة جمع فيها من كنوز الكتب ما لا يدخل تحت حصر، ولكن منيت هذه المكتبة بحريق هائل أتت على معظمها. وقد ترك الكثير من المؤلفات القيمة في الفقه وأصوله وفي علوم الحديث وفي التراجم والسير والكتاب الذي نقلب صفحاته هو واحد من مؤلفاته ابن الملقّن الهامة والذي جمع فيه تراجم مشايخ الصوفية والتي بلغ عددها 245 ترجمة وهو يقع في قسمين: الأول الطبقات نفسها، والثاني الذيول عليه. وهو يقول بأنه جمع في كتابه هذا جملة من طبقات الأعلام الأعيان، وأوتاد الأخطاب في كل قطر وأوان، وقد جمعهم للاهتداء بمآثرهم، وللافتناء بآثارهم رجاء أن ينظم في سلكهم. وقد جاء الكتاب محققاً حيث عمد المحقق إلى استهلاله بمقدمة تحدث فيها عن التصوف وأصوله الإسلامية منتقلاً من ثم إلى التعريف بالمؤلف، كما عمد إلى تخريج الآيات وبعضاً من الأحاديث والأعلام الواردة بالكتاب على المصادر والكتب المطبوعة منها والمخطوطة كما قام بعزو الأقوال الواردة على لسان أصحاب التراجم إلى المصادر التي تناقلتها مع مقارنة هذه الأقوال في مصادرها بعضها البعض.
