استخدم الباحث الحرف العربي في كتابة المفردات النبطية؛ رغبة منه في توسيع دائرة المستفيدين من الباحثين والدارسين، كما اتبع المنهج العلمي المعروف في الدراسات ذات العلاقة بقواعد اللغات العربية القديمة؛ مؤكداً أن أصوات (الذال، والخاء، والظاء، والغين، والضاد، والثاء) كانت مستخدمة عند الأنباط كما هي في العربية الفصحى بالرغم من معارضة بعض الدارسين.
