تحت عنوان "لا جديد" يقدم الدكتور إبراهيم المقدود: تأملات في فكر التطرف - التنظيمات العسكرية غير النظامية - العصبية والثأر - الحِرابة واللصوصية - نظرية المؤامرة.
عبر هذه المحاور تأتي مادة الكتاب، وفيها يبدأ المؤلف بالحديث عن التطرف كنتيجة سلبية في تزوير مفاهيم العصبية،، وكيف مرّ تاريخ أوروبا بالفترات العصبية التي ميزتها شرائع التطرف وسلبية العصبية الدينية والمنطقية، وولادة مفاهيم وطنية جديدة، عندما خاضت تلك الدول حروباً ضارية، وأقامت تحالفات مشبوهة، وعملت على نهب ثروات أوطانها، وتنكيل وتعذيب لمعارضي فئة من فئاتها، فكان التحكم باسم الدين - والكلام للمؤلف - والفساد والرشوة باسم الدين أو باسم محاربة الخصم، ليصل الصراع إلى أوجه بظهور الثورة الصناعية التي قلبت الموازين وعندها صار الصراع إقتصادياً وإجتماعياً غيّر المفاهيم وعبث بالقيم ...
وبناءً على ما تقدم ذكره قسّم المؤلف كتابه إلى خمسة فصول، في الفصل الأول تناول التطرف بمفاهيمه التاريخية في العالم المسيحي، وثورة الإصلاح وما جاء بعدها من حروب مدمرة فيما يسمى بالإصلاح المضاد أو مناهضة الإصلاح، بينما تناول الفصل الثاني إشكالية التشكيلات غير النظامية أي تلك التي لا تخضع لسلطة الدولة أو تلك التي هي جزء من الدولة ولكن ليست منطوية تحت الإمرة العسكرية والأمنية مباشرة، باعتبارها قوات خاصة ضمن المنظومات الأمنية والعسكرية، لها ميزاتها وتاريخها ... وفي الفصل الثالث محاولة للتمييز بين التشكيلات غير النظامية وظاهرة الحِرابة واللصوصية وقطاع الطرق والعلاقة فيما بينها، وفي الفصل الرابع بحث في ارتباط الظواهر بالمفاهيم العصبية والقبلية والثأر والتداخل بينها، ويأتي الفصل الخامس والأخير ليبحث بإيجاز نظرية وفكر المؤامرة، من حيث الإصطلاح والمفهوم، ومن خلال تقديم نماذج تاريخية بين "الخرافة والخيال الشعبي" وفي النصوص الأدبية القصصية ...
