هل سيبقى الوطن وطناً فى عصر العولمة السعيدة؟! وهل سيبقى المواطن مواطناً؟! إشكالية تحمل فى طياتها العديد من التداعيات الخلافية والمقاربة الفكرية.من هنا كان موضوع هذا الكتاب بعنوان: "المواطنة والعولمة" الذى اخترته ليعبر بوضوح عن مضمون ما أردت أن أصل إليه.. وهو حصيلة تمثل ما يقرب من عشر سنوات من الإهتمام بالشأن المصرى العام والشأن القبطى الخاص، ولذلك اّثرت أن أرفق شهادة خاصة بتجربتى مع قضية التدخل الأمريكى فى الشأن المصرى الخاص "توظيف الاقباط"، وشهادة أخرى عن تجربتى الحزبية "تجربة للعمل السياسى فى مصر". والكتاب فى هذا الشكل يمثل كما أعتقد منظونة فكرية متكاملة لكل قضية اتخذت فيها موقفاً، ولكل رأى كتبته ودافعت عنه.

إشكالية تحمل في طياتها العديد من التداعيات الخلافية والمقاربات الفكرية. من هنا كان موضوع هذا الكتاب بعنوان: "المواطنة والعولمة" الذي اخترته ليعبر بوضوح عن مضمون ما أردت أن أصل إليه.. وهو حصيلة تمثل ما يقرب من عشر سنوات من الاهتمام بالشأن المصري العام والشأن القبطي الخاص، ولذلك آثرت أن أرفق شهادة خاصة بتجربتي مع قضية التدخل الأمريكي في الشأن المصري الخاص (توظيف الأقباط)، وشهادة أخرى عن تجربتي الحزبية (تجربة للعمل السياسي في مصر) والكتاب في هذا الشكل يمثل كما أعتقد منظومة فكرية متكاملة لكل قضية اتخذت فيها موقفاً، ولكل رأي كتبته ودافعت عنه.
والكتاب هنا يمثل معالجة لقضيتين متوازيتين: أولهما "المواطنة" وثانيتهما دراسة الوعي الذاتي بالقضايا التي تتعلق بالمواطنة. وبالتالي، فهو لا يتتبع "المواطنة" منهجياً على المستوى التاريخي فحسب، وإنما يتتبع-أيضاً-تحولات الفكر تجاه هذه القضايا طبقاً لمقتضيات المنهج النقدي.
لقد آثرت-جاهداً- أن التزم منطقة الأمان المحايد إلى حد ما، وأتمنى أن أكون قد وقفت فيما طمحت أن أصل إليه، غير أنني قد تحيزت بشدة في القضايا التي كان الاختيار فيها هو الموقف من الوطن.
