ويعتبر حسام تمام واحدا من أبرز الخبراء العرب في شئون الإسلام السياسي والحركات السياسية ومن المتابعين لشئون الأقليات الإسلامية المقيمة في الغرب.
يعد تمام مؤسس أول مرصد متخصص لدراسة الحركات الإسلامية، وشغل منصب مدير تحرير قطاع الحركات الإسلامية بموقع "إسلام أون لاين"، وبدأ عمله الصحفى بجريدة آفاق عربية، ثم انتقل إلى "القاهرة"، ثم الأحرار.
وللفقيد عدة كتب وترجمات فى الحركات الإسلامية أبرزها "مع الحركات الإسلامية في العالم –رموز وتجارب وأفكار"،" تحولات الإخوان المسلمين تفكك الأيدولوجية ونهاية التنظيم".، وكان محاضراً فى جامعة زيورخ، وساهم فى العديد من الإصدارات المتخصصة فى الشرق الأوسط، بالتعاون مع مركز الثقافة الفرنسى وعدد من الجهات البحثية الأوروبية.
توفي في الخامس والعشرين من أكتوبر عام 2011م.
Book Description
تقارب هذه الدراسة مسألة التحولات الأخيرة التي عرفتها جماعة الإخوان المسلمين، كبرى الحركات الإجتماعية الإسلامية. فالحركة التي تشهد منذ شهور زخماً سياسياً وإعلامياً كبيراً كانت قد تعرضت لأكبر هزة تنظيمية في داخلها منذ تلك التي عرفتها في الخمسينات والستينات من القرن العشرين، خلال إجرائها انتخابت الداخلية نهاية 2009 وبداية 2010 والتي أسفرت عن تصدر رموز التيار التنظيمي المحافظ لنتائجها، فالإرباك الذي ظهر مؤخراً في مواقف الإخوان هو نتاج نمو توجهات سلفية كامنة في جسم الجماعة تخرج بها عن نطاق الحركة الجامعة ذات الرؤية التوفيقية التي عرفت بها في مرحلة التاسيس نحو حالة من "التسلف" أو التحول للسلفية، وهي توجهات تعكس تحولات داخلية تتعرض لها التركيبة الإخوانية منذ فترة ليست بالقصيرة بحيث صارت السلفية تياراً فاعلاً بل وأكثر التيارات فاعلية وتأثيراً داخل الإخوان مما تستدعي بحثاً معمقاً عن جذور المكون السلفي (الكامن) في جماعة الإخوان، والعوامل التي تقف وراء تطوره ثم أبرز تجلياته الحالية، وهو ما تقدمه هذه الدراسة.
