ما كان لباحث جمع إلى سعة المعرفة وصفاء النية، أن ينكر على الإسلام نزعته التنظيمية، فما يجحد ذلك إلا مكابراً أو جهول، وما نظننا بحاجة إلى إقامة الدليل على أن الإسلام نظام كامل يشمل الدين والدنيا معاً، فقد اشتملت نصوصه وتعاليمه على المبادئ الأساسية في التشريع السياسي والاقتصادي والاجتماعي والعسكري، وبطريقة متوازنة دون طغيان جانب على آخر، والإسلام مع تحديد مبادئ وأركان العقيدة وشكل الإيمان وأنواع العبادات، إنما ضمن من خلال هذا الإطار استخدام العقل السليم وما ينتهي إليه من معرفة الاعتراف بدقة تلك النظم التي جاء بها الإسلام، وحين يؤرخ لهذه النظم، إنما يستعرض في الواقع جانباً من حضارة المسلمين عرباً وعجماً ونصور حياتهم منذ جاء الإسلام بلوحة تبعث الروح في هذه الحياة، أساسها العقيدة وقوامها العبادة والشريعة والسياسة والأخلاق والاقتصاد والجهاد والمال والميراث والقضاء والعقوبات، هذه اللوحة تزدان بكثير من الزخارف التي تأتي على ذكر أولئك الذين حملوا الإسلام، الذي جاء به محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم دون تفصيل في سير حياتهم وأعمالهم، نستذكرهم في هذا المقام ونحن ننظر إلى صرح الحضارة الإسلامية الشامخ الذي أفنوا حياتهم من أجله.
لقد جاء هذا المؤلف بشقية: الجانب السياسي والإيديولوجي، والجانب التنظيمي وتحديات الفكر، بأهم الجوانب المضيئة في ثقافتنا الإسلامية، وبيان الجهود الجبارة، والطاقات الهائلة التي تجندت من القوى المعادية للإسلام، على اختلاف أهدافها وطرائقها وتعدد ألوانها وأسمائها للصد عن هذا الدين وجر المسلمين إلى سبيل غير سبيلهم، لتضيعهم في متاهات السبل المتفرقة.
