تناول المصنف في هذا المؤلَّف كتاب شرح شواهد الكواكب الدريّة على متممة الأجرومية الذي جمع فيه جامعه من النكت اللغوية والآداب والفوائد والصلات والعوائد النحوية ما يعتمده المصنفون مما فيه كفاية للطالب، وإعانة للراغب، حيث قام مصنف الكتاب الذي نقلب صفحاته بالاعتناء بهذا المصنف الهام إذ أنه عمل على أعراب الشواهد التي لم يرو في الأصل إعراب لها، كما شرح الغوامض وبين المعاني كل ذلك بأسلوب مختصر بعيد عن التطويل، تسهيلاً للدارس وللقارئ.
المقدمة الآجرومية في النحو لقيت اهتماماً قد يكون مما انفرد به هذا متن في النحو، وله عشرات من الشروح والحواشي حتى ان العمريطي نظمها فيما يزيد على مائتي بيت، ومع كون ابن آجروم فاسيا مغربيا الا انها انتشرت حتى قيل " من دخل النحو منها فتح له ومن لم يدخله منها لم يفتح له " وها هم علماء اليمن يولونها الاهتمام فشرحها الرعيني الحطاب باختصار موردا التعريفات والامثلة، ثم تلقى الشيخ محمد الاهدل شرحه بالعناية فصله ونسب الأقوال والفوائد الى اصحابها في كتبهم واعرب كثيرا منها، وتمم الفائدة الشيخ عبد الله الشعبي فشرح شواهد " الكواكب " مبينا بحرها وقائلها ومعناها اللغوي واعرابها والشاهد فيها فجاء عظيم الفائدة
