يقدم تحليلاً للسياسة الإيطالية تجاه المملكة العرية السعودية في المدة الواقعة ما بين عامي 1932-1942م، وهي الحقبة التي بدأت بتوقيع اتفاقيات الصداقة والتجارة بين الدولتين، وتنتهي بالعام الذي توقفت فيه العلاقات بينهما مؤقتاً، وقد تناول الكتاب في ثناياه عرضاً لأساليب الدبلوماسيين الإيطاليين المقيمين في جدة بالمملكة، والجهود التي بذلوها من أجل إقامة علاقات طيبة مع المملكة. وعلى الرغم من أن نصائح أولئك الدبلوماسيين الإيطاليين لم تلق قبولاً من حكومتهم في ذلك الوقت، إلا أن قادم الأيام أثبت أن تلك النصائح كانت خيرات متراكمة أسهمت مجتمعة في توجيه السياسة الإيطالية فيما بعد نحو الخيار الصحيح وهو خيار الصداقة والتعاون والسلام.
