وسوف أثبت أن جاذبية الإسلام الروحية والعقلية هى السبب الأساسى لاعتناق كبار المفكرين الغربيين للإسلام.
وقد اخترت لدراستى هذه ثلاث مهتدين من المفكرين والكتاب، وهو: ليوبولد فايس (محمد أسد)، ومارجريت ماركس (مريم جميلة)، والدكتور ويلفريد هوفمان (مراد هوفمان).
وقد تبين لي أن هناك ثلاثة أسباب أساسية لابد من وجودها لكي يمكن أن ينبذ المفكر اليهودي أو المسيحى دينه ويعتنق الإسلام:
الأول: القلق الروحي الذى يعانيه المفكر نتيجة عجز ثقافته الموروثة عن تقديم إجابات معقولة للأسئلة الوجودية الكبرى.
والثانى: وجود عوامل طرد ثقافية فى الثقافة الموروثة للمفكر.
والثالث: تعرض المفكر لقوة جذب بسبب الدراسة أو الزواج أو العمل بين المسلمين فى مجال من المجالات.
ويشير المهتدون الأوربيون إلى عامل طارد آخر هو: المجتمع الصناعى وانحرافاته فهؤلاء المفكرون ينشدون مجتمعاً عالمياً: أكثر عدلاً، تسوده أخلاقيات رفيعة.
هذه الحقائق تشير إلى مسئوليتنا نحن المسملين: أن نحسن عرض الإسلام على الشعوب الأخرى، وأن نوفر المعرفة الدقيقة به لديهم، وعلى الأخص، لدى المفكرين والعلماء والكتاب، وأن نستعين بالمهتدين في إنجاز مهمتنا الإسلامية.
