هذه الأفكار وغيرها دفعت نيتشه نحو شن حملة فكرية نقدية للدفاع عن الجسد ونقض وتحطيم يوتوبيا العقل التي تبنتها الفلسفات العقلية بدءاً من سقراط وأفلاطون ووصولاً إلى الفلسفات العقلية والمثالية الحديثة، التي اعلنت الحرب على الغرائز وتآمرت على الحياة. واختلقت أسطورة التراتب، وأقحمت الفكر بثنائيات متناقضة، مثل ثنائية العقل والجسد أو الروح والجسد أو المعرفة والحياة أو الفكر والغريزة وغيرها. والتي أفضت في كل أشكالها وفقاً للتصور النيتشوي إلى كبت الجسد واحتقارهِ وعطلت قواهُ وصادرت الحياة بتسميات جوفاء.
