إنها مرحلة أخرى من البحث أخوض غمارها لأدرس فيها (عناصر القصة في الشعر العباسي)، لتؤكد إرتباطي بالأدب العباسي بعامة والشعر منه بخاصة، محاولاً بأقصى ما يمكن الإلمام به، وقراءة اوسع ما تمكن قراءته من الشعر العباسي، حتى أغوص في أعماقه وأحاول إستخراج ما كمن من لآلثه.
بنيت هذه الدراسة على تمهيد وخمسة فصول، جعلت التمهيد تحت عنوان "بين الشعر والقصة"، عرضت فيه أولاً لتعريف القصة، ثم بيان سمات الشعر القصصي والشعر الغنائي لتجاذبهما أطراف موضوع هذا البحث، أما الأول - أي القصصي - فلبحثي عن سماته في هذا الشعر العباسي، والثاني - أي الغنائي - لما وسم هذا العربي في خضم ذلك لأتكلم من بعد على هذه النزعة القصصية في الشعر العباسي من حيث أصل وجودها فيه ومكمنها وحجمها وطبيعتها، لأبين أخيراً عن طبيعة رؤيتي للموضوع وسبيلي إلى معالجته.
أما الفصل الأول فقد درست فيه عنصر (الحدث... الحبكة)، وفي الفصل الثاني عالجت عنصر (الشخصية)، وفي الفصل الثالث بحثت في عنصر (الزمان والمكان) بوصفهما الفضاء الذي يحتوي سير الأحداث ويستوعب حركة الشخصيات، وأما الفصل الرابع فقد عرضت فيه لدراسة (السرد) مقسماً البحث فيه - أي السرد - على أساليب ووسائل إذ جمعت الأساليب في أسلوبين رئيسين هما: السرد الموضوعي والسرد الذاتي، أما الوسائل فقد انحصرت في اثنتين هما: الوصف والحوار، وقد كنت أعول في كل فصل من الفصول على جانبين: أولهما تنظيري، والثاني تطبيقي.
أما الفصل الخامس الذي جاء بعنوان (في الفن الشعري) فقد حاولت فيه دراسة نماذج من الشعر ذي النزعة القصصية بعناصرها التي عالجتها في الفصول السابقة، من البحث، على وفق محاور ثلاثة هي: 1-اللغة: لفظاً وتركبياً، 2-الصورة الفنية، 3-الموسيقا (الإيقاع)، هذه المحاور التي تكون برأيي أبراز عناصر البناء الشعري.
