إن الدخول إلى عالم الشاعرة مها القصراوي، يتميز بمواصفات خاصة. إنه مغامرة الدخول إلى المجهول الذي يأسرك ويتآلف معك في آن معاً. فالشاعرة وفي مجمل نصوصها تنسج شعراً ينتصر للحياة والحب والأمل ومن خلال إزاحات فضفاضة جميلة، موغلة في عوالم عاطفية وروحية تعمل على حشد ذائقة المتلقي بشعرٍ يبدو أنه يمتلك جمالية فائقة، وخصوصاً عند الحديث عن الأنثى العاشقة: "أنا امرأة.../ تعشق الحب... وتغني للفرح/ توجعني القصيدة... والذكريات/ أستحضر عينيك/ وأغرق في صمتي/ في بركان جسدي/ ويصير قصيدة/ وروحي جمر تحت رماد الذكريات/ كم توجعني القصيدة/ وتؤلمني الذكريات/ لا تسبح في أعماقي/ أخاف عليك من الغرق/ لا تبحث عن سري الدفين.. في كنهي/ فأنا بحر لا قاع له... ولا مدى/ أنا القصيدة... تكتبني وأكتبها (...)". وبهذا المعنى، تحاول الشاعرة القصراوي أن تصنع من نصوصها جسوراً نحو الآخر/ الرجل، فهي تخاف عليه من الغرق في بحرها، الذي هو بحر الشعر الذي لا يجيد العوم فيه إلَا من يتقن فنه، ومن هنا كان ديوان "يا عصفورة الروح" عن المرأة وللمرأة معاً، لا تملك إلَا أن تصغي له وتقرأه حين يأتيك.
يضم الكتاب (26) قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "أنشودة الخمر"، "أجمل قصائدي"، "أنت المستحيل"، "ارحل"، "لا رسالة إلى رجل شرقي"، "فصول أربعة"، لغة الصمت"، يا عصفورة الروح"، روحي تغرد في الآفاق أغنية"، "تعالي صغيرتي أقاسمك العشق"، "حوار على مقام العشق" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
