هذا الدفتر هو دفتر في القواعد والإملاء والخطّ بالملاحظة والمحاكاة للصّفّ الثّاني من التّعليم الأساسيّ مكمّل لكتاب عقود الكلام في القراءة والتّعبير، وقد عالج المنهج الرسميّ المقرّر للسّنة الثّانية من التعليم الأساسيّ بترابط تامّ مع دروس القراءة، وذلك تطبيقاً للمنهج الرّسميّ المقرّر وتفضيلاته، وتعديلاته المقترحة.
وقد وزع المنهج المقرّر على تسعة عشر درساً، في القواعد والإملاء، وأتبع بثماني قسائم للدعّم والتّقوية تركّز على أهمّ ما تضمنّته الدّروس، فضلاً عن تمرينات للتّدرّب على خطّ الرّفعة.
وقد تمّ تركيز المعالجة في كلّ درس بأسلوبٍ يلائم الطّرائق النّاشطة الّتي اعتمدها والّتي تفسح في المجال للمتعلّم كي يخطو خطواتٍ متدرّجة ومتكاملة في الملاحظة والمحاكاة والتّطبيق الوظيفيّ العمليّ، وذلك من خلال تمارين يتدرّب فيها المتعلّم على القواعد الوظيفيّة بصورة تطبيقيّة عمليّة من دون أن يتحوّل الدّرس إلى درس نظريّ في القواعد.
