الإشتغال على الأفكار هو ما يراهن عليه صاحب كتاب "ثورات فكرية في رحاب جمهورية افلاطون" الأستاذ محمد نعمان ملاعب، الذي بحث وقرأ وصوب مراحل تاريخية وتجارب إنسانية وفكرية وتابع تحولات ثقافية لا تقتصر على "جمورية أفلاطون" وسقراط وفلاسفة الإغريق، بل تمتد إلى الشرائع الدينية والتجربة القرمطية بدءاً من القائم بأمر الله مروراً بالمنصور والمعز والعزيز وصولاً إلى الحاكم بأمر الله، ليجد - كما يقول - أن هناك حلقات مسلسلةٌ من الثورات الفكرية والفلسفية، هدفها تجاوز الجمود الفكري والعقائدي الذي حل محل عبادة الأصنام والأوثان، ... وصولاً إلى البحث فيما وراء العدالة التي لا تقتصر على المجتمع الإنساني، بل تتعداه إلى ما فوقه، وصولاً إلى الحقيقة المطلقة التي يراها المؤلف "فوق المادة والصورة" لافتاً إلى تجربة (غاندي) في الهند ومحاربة الإستعمار الأجنبي بالثورة السلمية والعمل المباشر المنطلق من مبدأ التضحية بالذات في سبيل الوصول إلى الحرية، معرّجاً إلى جمال عبد الناصر الذي حاول "أن يطبق ويحقق الوحدة العربية كما حققها المعز لدين الله، وكاد أن ينجح" وصولاً إلى كمال جنبلاط الذي "تأثر بهذا التاريخ الفني من الفكر والتجارب الإنسانية، فزرع بذور هذه المبادىء بين النخبة من أفراد المجتمع".
لهذا، جاء هذا الكتاب في أبوابه المتعددة ليشتمل على حلقات متسلسلة لهدفٍ واحدٍ وهو البحث عن الحقيقة، على اعتبار أن "الحقيقة وحدها تحررنا وتحقق العدالة الإنسانية الشاملة". وبناءً عليه، انطوى الكتاب تحت عناوين بارزة هي: 1- ثورات فكرية في رحاب جمهورية افلاطون، 2- نشأة القرامطة وحكمهم، 3- الفاطميون والمعز لدين الله، 4- كمال جنبلاط الرجل الأسطورة، 5- خواطر وآراء.
