صحفية جرئية مجتهدة تبحث عن الجديد والمثير لتقدمه إلى القراء.. وبرغم كونها شابة جميلة وفاتنة.. اختارت الطريق الصعب.. وتبنت فكرة عمل تحقيقات صحفية عن المنارات النائية على المحيط الهادئ. سافرت سالى بروان إلى جزيرة روك بالاتفاق مع حارس المنارة.. لكنها فؤجئت هناك بأخيه أستاذ الأدب الانجليزى فى الجامعة.. كان قد حل محل أخية الذى سافر لعلاج ابنه.. وبسبب عوامل الطقس السيئة.. اضطرت سالى إلى البقاء على الجزيزة مع لايل الذى كان متعجرف وذو سمعة سيئة فى الجامعة .. كانا وحدها على الجزيزة تتناقض بينهما القضايا والآراء.. وحل النفور محل تفاهمها حتى تمنت سالى مغادرة الجزيزة بأقصى سرعة .. لكن الطقس وقف معاندا.. واشتدت المعارك مع أستاذ الأدب.. ولم تكن الفتاة خائفة من الطقس بقدر خوفها من الرجل المستبد الذى أجبرت على البقاء معه.. فماذا حدث بينهما..؟ وكيف تطورت المعارك..؟
