في مجموعته الشعرية (المعتق من قبس)، بدا الشاعر فيصل أحمد الغامدي وكأنه يلتجىء إلى الشعر للتعبير عن الفلسفة وعن بعض معانيها العميمة برؤية تتوغل عميقاً نحو الذهن/ العقل لتصدح نشيدا له.
هي قبسات تصور محنة الإنسان في وجوده وكينونته القصيرة وفي انخطافه وسرعة زواله من الحياة من دون أن يحقق ولو القليل من أحلامه وأمانيه ومما قاله قصيدة بعنوان (بيداء المناخ):
"ومسافرٍ سلّ الطريق وشقّ في البيداء درباً سافراً/ ومسافرٍ سلك الرؤى/ شجر القصيدة فارتوى من عطرها شجر الطريق/ شرح الرقاة/ وشارح الشعراء (...)".
وهكذا في بقية قصائد المجموعة، حيث أراد الشاعر أن يحمل شعره موقفاً فلسفياً كاملاً، وهذا إن دل على شيىء فإنما يدل على قدرة شاعرنا في التعبير عن موضوعات شائكة بالغة العمق لصيقة بالإنسان.
يضم الكتاب عشرون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث نذكر من عناوينها: إعتزال، شاهد العطر، بيداء المناخ، ترنيمة الوداع، البشارة ... الخ.
