إن للعلامة ابن حجر الهيتمي والعلامة الشهاب الرملي أثر جليٌّ في خدمة المذهب الشافعي عند المتأخرين. ولخلافهما إذا اختلفا اعتبار ينظر ويبحث فيه؛ إذ هما من أعلام المتأخرين المعتمدين. ولقد نهض لجمع هذا الخلاف الفقيه عمر بن حامد بافرج باعلوي التريمي الحضرمي. فنقل الخلاف بعبارات موجزة.
ثم قامت الدكتورة شفاء محمد حسن هيتو بإتمام العمل على وجه حسن. إذ قامت ببيان أصل المسألة، ومحل الاتفاق فيها، وإبراز مكمن الخلاف، وشرح ما أشكل فيها، بإثراء النص عبر منهج علمي لا يخرج عن أقوال الأئمة المتبوعين، كما بينته في مقدماتها. كما استفادت من كتاب «إثمد العينين في الخلاف بين الشيخين» للعلامة باصبرين. وهو جامع للخلاف المذكور من كتاب شيخه العلامة باعشن في كتابه «بشرى الكريم».
ولقد سعدت دار المنهاج بنشر هذا الكتاب النفيس في موضوعه الذي يجلي لنا بوضوح مذهب الإمامين الرملي وابن حجر واختلافهما في هذه المسائل وهما من هما في المدرسة الشافعية. ولعمري إنه لبحث نفيس لا يستطيع الإحاطة به إلا من كان محققاً واسع الاطلاع أمثال مؤلف الرسالة.
