يعد الشيخ الشهيد "راغب حرب" واحد من أهم رموز المقاومة الإسلامية ضد الاحتلال الاسرائيلي في لبنان. ولد عام 1952 في بلدة جبشيت اللبنانية، واستشهد في العام 1984م.
يتحدث الكتاب عن سيرة هذا المناضل في ظل فترة تاريخية شهدت تحولات استراتيجية في السياسات العربية، حيث أقدم العدو الصهيوني على غزو الجنوب اللبناني، واحتل بيروت والجبل، ووصل جنوده الى مشارف البقاع، وما لبث أن فرض واقعاً سياسياً مؤلماً في لبنان، في هذه الأثناء وبالتحديد في عام 1983.
اعتقل الشيخ راغب، وعمت الاعتصامات قرى الجنوب انطلاقاً من جبشيت، مما أجبر العدو على الإفراج عنه.. ولم تمضِ الا أيام قلائل، حتى صار الشيخ راغب، العالم المجاهد، المقاوم، على كل لسان، ودخل حبّه الى قلوب الناس.
أمام هذه التجربة العظيمة، والتضحيات السامية، وحرصاً على المسؤولية التاريخية دأبت "جمعية إحياء التراث المقاوم" بالاستناد الى الوثائق التي جمعتها عن حياة الشيخ راغب حرب، جاء نشر هذا الكتاب وتقديمه الى المحبين والثوار والباحثين من أهل الفكر. والذي يتضمن كلمات مختارة من خطاباته التي كان قد ألقاها في مناسبات عديدة.
يضم الكتاب المحاور الآتية: الدين والإيمان، الأخلاق الإسلامية، الطاعة والعبادة، الوعي السياسي، الجهاد والثورة، الثقافة الاجتماعية، الثقافة الحسينية، العلم والعلماء، وهي في مجموعتها تضم كلمات للشيخ الشهيد.
من أقوال الشيخ الشهيد "راغب علامة" اخترنا هذه الكلمات: إن الانسان الذي يريد أن يكون مطيعاً لله هو الذي يسأل عن حكمه الشرعي في كل أمر، ما دمت مسلماً ليس لك خيار في أن تخرج عن طاعة رسول الله (ص)، سواء أمر لها بما ترغب أو لا ترغب، ليست القضية قضية مزاج، أو هوى، أو رغبة القضية قضية طاعة، أينما وجدتم تمزقاً، فاعلموا أن ليس هناك تقوى.
